Pack up the car
Prepare to drive far
We are northwestern bound
Through coal mountain towns
Stay up all night
When there's no moonlight
And see the galaxies
Unfolding for thee
Set up the scope
We can only hope
There are no clouds tonight
Just galactic light
A shooting star
There will be much more
Here is the joyful dark
Pennsylvania Park
Jupiter's moons
The Pleiades swoon
Here in the joyful dark
Pennsylvania Park
Andromeda
Cassiopeia
Here runs the Milky Way
In Central PA

Kinzua, Here We Go!
02:24
|
|
||
Twenty miles – Here we go!
We are on the open road
We are going, we are going, to Kinzua
Where the great bridge once had stood
Now a pile of iron and wood
We are going, we are going, to Kinzua
Fallen trees cover the ground
A tornado knocked them down
In the valley, in the valley of Kinzua
The eighth wonder of the world
Tumbled in a windy whirl
In the valley, in the valley of Kinzua
Here we go! Here we go! Here we go, go, go!
Through endless mountains we wander
Such sights we will behold
On the road! On the road! On the open road!
Beware the Nittany Lions
Black bears, bobcats, and toads
In just ninety-four work days
Forty men the bridge did raise
In the valley, in the valley of Kinzua
They built Tracks Across the Sky
Three hundred and one feet high
In the valley, in the valley, of Kinzua
Through the Pennsylvania Wilds
This great track had run for miles
‘Cross the valley, ‘cross the valley of Kinzua
‘Neath the arches, I was told
A bank robber hid his gold
In the valley, in the valley of Kinzua
Here we go! Here we go! Here we go, go, go!
Through endless mountains we wander
Such sights we will behold
On the road! On the road! On the open road!
Beware the Nittany Lions
Black bears, bobcats, and toads

Thanksgiving Hymn
03:21
|
|
||
Thank you for our mountains, their peaks so tall and fair
Thank you for our prairies, their dusty golden air
Thank you for our waters, the rivers, lakes and streams
Thank you for our smoothing sands and for the deep blue sea
Thank you for our forests, the maples pines and more
Oaks and birches tower above the mossy floor
Thank you for our tundras, those lichens clinging long
The rain, the snow, the lightning bolts, that shine from heav'n above
Thank you for our cities, those points of metal gleam
Thank you for our railroads; electric, diesel, steam
Thank you for our airplanes; those grand jetliners soar
The thinking, dreaming, weighing mind; creating ever more
Thank you for our bounty: our veggies and our meats
All the living creatures; our friends and noble feast
Thank you for our laughter, our tears and furrowed brows
Thank you for the strength to love, the courage to know how

Cloud 9
02:58
|
|

Sunbeams are filling the sky
It’s got me wondering why
My days are so blue
When you would be true
To me, We could be on Cloud 9
You look at me, and you say
‘I’ll love you through all my days’
I know that it’s true
But I’d rather be blue
My love for you I can proclaim
You are frustrated and sad
Only when we touch are you glad
But that’s not my style
I wish that you’d smile
And tell me it isn’t so bad
That’s not your job, this I know
But I wish your mean words would go
I know that you’re sad
But it’s all not that bad
And you are the star of your show
Our love flows even and calm
It’s not like passion, so strong
This could be healthy
Are we meant to be
Happy ever after all

So What
04:28
|
|||
I went to ask the preacher man
about the universal hand
and did God really rule the land
footprints in the sand
The preacher man just looked at me
said it was he who was holy
closer to God by far than me
pray eternally
"Go to the poorbox, there it is
now you must put your dollar in
if you love God then you must be
willing to give him your money"
I knew not then just what to think
the preacher had me on the brink
the sunlight streaming through the window
looked like a halo
Merciful cloud moved into place
the light went from the preacher's face
facade appropriately darkened
I knew I must harken
To all the voices in my head
filling my heart with anxious dread
I could not heed the preacher's message
God did not send it
Set my eyes straight and turned to go
walked past the preacher, out the door
the dollar burning in my pocket
fighting off tears, I kept a-walking
I came upon a shady grove
laid down my bones, looked up above
the sunlight streaming through the pine boughs
looked like a halo

Going Nowhere
03:07
|
|||
I am riding my bike
I will do what I like
I am going nowhere
I will climb the glass stair
If I drop my burden
I will be a-hurtin’
For that stair will crumble
In a mighty rumble
I, I, I! Me, Me, Me!
I can sing Do Re Mi
I must be entitled
Come to my recital
I will sign a contract
Then I will be paid back
For this heavy burden
Boy, am I a-hurtin’
Persistent integration of what he gives to you
Just swallow what is given, or else define the food
No one can take this from me, and put it on the shelf
I must walk the valley. There is nobody else.
I am riding my bike
I will do what I like
I am going nowhere!
Why does nobody care?
Someone must repay me
For the weight I carry!
So I walk my glass stair
Stamp my feet without a care
Any way the wind blows
You can see through my holes
Fame, it blows my hair back
I am on the fast track
Oh! Dear me! You haven’t heard?
Crystal steps I do deserve
I proceed hastily
So no one can catch me
When I lay down to sleep
All my fears, they grow deep
With no one to impress,
My life seems a strange mess
The stair grows slippery
Won’t somebody help me
Try on my fancy dress
To escape this duress
Consistent degradation of what was once held true
Just swallow what is given, or else define the food
Examine my denial of that beyond myself
I will stand my trial. There is nobody else
I am riding my bike
I will do what I like
I am going nowhere!
Why does nobody care?
Someone must repay me
For the weight I carry!
I’ve broken my glass stair
Stamped my feet without a care
